Is my redacted image truly private?
Yes, absolutely. All processing happens 100% in your browser on your device. We never receive, see, store, or transmit your images. Once you close the browser tab, there's no trace on any server. Your privacy is guaranteed by design.
Which redaction method is most secure?
Solid Mask is strongest — it completely obscures content with a solid color, making recovery mathematically impossible. Pixelate offers medium security (harder to reverse than blur); Blur is fastest but least secure if someone attempts advanced recovery techniques.
Can I edit a redacted image after export?
No — exported images are final. Once redacted pixels are written, they cannot be recovered or reversed. If you need to adjust redaction, upload your original image and redact again. Keep your original unredacted copy for archival purposes.
What image formats do you support?
Upload any format: PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP. Export in PNG (lossless), JPEG (compressed), or WebP (modern, smaller files). Large images are automatically optimized to prevent slowdowns while preserving quality.
Can I redact multiple areas in one image?
Yes! Drag to select each sensitive area and apply your chosen redaction method. Use Undo (Ctrl/Cmd+Z) to revert mistakes. The Advanced panel lets you stack precise redactions with pixel-perfect coordinates.
Is there a batch redaction feature?
Currently, redaction works on one image at a time. For multiple images, upload and redact each sequentially. Future updates may include batch processing — stay tuned!
Will redacted images work with facial recognition?
Solid Mask completely blocks facial recognition. Pixelate at 16px or higher also prevents most recognition systems. Blur is less effective — use Solid Mask or high-pixel Pixelate if blocking facial recognition is critical.
Can I share redacted images in compliance documents?
Yes. Redaction with Solid Mask meets GDPR, HIPAA, and other privacy regulation requirements. EXIF metadata is automatically removed. Keep audit trails showing redaction timestamp and method for compliance records.
